1:1 CHILD COACHING

Providing Home Tutoring and Support in Salisbury and Wiltshire

What we do in the community

I understand the needs of families that have children with additional educational requirements. I started SEN teaching because I faced the same struggles that many other parents sadly face and I could not find tutors willing to match their teaching approach to the needs of my child.

1:1 Home Coaching in Salisbury & Surrounding Areas

I provide 1:1 coaching for children whose emotions need regulating and to provide improved support for their mental well-being. Most of these children require additional help with their education because they find that the noise, hustle and bustle of the classroom causes them distraction, or loss of concentration. These children need additional encouragement to engage with the learning process. Ultimately, they benefit from 1:1 coaching where the teacher has more time to engage with them and can tailor the learning process to that individual child’s needs. Often that can only happen through home coaching.

I use a combination of my personal and professional experience and training to provide 1:1 coaching. I employ a combination of CBT and emotional regulation techniques to support your child’s mental health and behaviour.

SEN Home Learning Engagement Strategies

I use methods that can be proven to engage, motivate and enthuse children to learn – from play therapy, visual aids, role-playing, music and even reward. All tailored to keep the child’s attention span and to encourage enjoyment in learning.

I tutor on a 1:1 basis within your home and create a bespoke approach that supports your child’s needs.

Having an SEN Tutor in Your Home

I understand the importance of safeguarding and confidentiality, so I am registered with the DBS update service; I have full enhanced DBS clearance certificates for adults and children. I am emergency first aid trained and have completed care certificate training, including manual handling.

I was told my daughter would never read or write! After a few months working with Dominique, she is able to write her name and a few CVC words. She is now able to read low level books and knows all her phonic sounds.

My daughter is now able to count and recognise/write the numbers 1 - 25. Her receptive and expressive language skills have greatly improved and Dominique worked along side our Speech and Language Therapist to support this.

I cannot thank Dominique enough for the progress my daughter has made in such little time
