I’m 54 years old, Belgian-born, and recently separated. Mother of two children. Both with Autistic Spectrum disorder and my youngest with Auditory Processing Disorder. My youngest was born in England and my son was born in Australia. I am a trained teacher, with nearly two decades of experience in Home Education and Flexi-schooling with a strong emphasis on alternative teaching and SEN techniques.

I run workshops in Intuitive writing and Intuitive drawing to externalize worries and musings that just don’t want to leave your head any other way. I published my first book a couple of years ago. A selection of my poetry and drawings called; “Poetic images/True colours” (currently out of print).

I  joined NaNoWriMo in 2013 and am coming back for my 8th year after finishing “Moving channels” 3 years ago. I have written 4 more books during the last 3 years in a series of 7, all following a middle-aged lady called Alice and her trials and tribulations through life which are in different stages of completion. I have recently started writing a non-fiction book called ‘Me, myself, and I. “How to be a good kind of selfish for parents of children with SEND needs.

I am also working on ” Surviving Education” a tale of special needs in a mainstream system. A book I started writing nearly 10 years ago during one of my earlier NaNoWriMo stints. As a young writers coach, I’m looking forward to setting up writing workshops, during the competition for Dyslexic young writers and LGBTQ+ writers. Looking forward to seeing you all in November for another year of exhilaration and comradery.
